A well-known manufacturer of automation components asked us to develop a software application for the configuration of IO-system. The first consulting phase resulted in the definition of the strategy, goals and priorities for the overall project. Based on interviews, a set of personas (fictitious user of said software application) were created in order to keep the requirements analysis focused on the actual users of the new system. In workshops, context scenarios were gathered to identify the relevant target processes and to document them.
Via various requirement workshops, M&M determined and consolidated functional and non-functional requirements. Wireframes, Mockups and Storyboards served for the refinement and prioritization of the requirements by means of exact proposals for the user interface design. These were discussed regularly with the customer and all results were documented in the specification. Based on this specification M&M created proposals for the technical solution of the overall project. The customer was closely involved in all project phases and had a very clear vision of the future solution in the end.
